Many perceive the end of the Mayan Long Count Calender to be the ‘end of the world’ as we know it, mainly with apocalyptic scenarios that predict our ultimate demise as a species.
It is my contention that the 2012 doomsday/apocalypse scenario has been taken completely out of context and that there is an incredible amount of misunderstanding in regards to these prophecies, with people mostly neglecting to see what was truly prophesied by the Maya.
It seems that the sacred knowledge handed down to us by the Maya can tell us something. They indicate to us at this time that there are great things at work within our universe to help us in our current plight.
They remind us that we have lost our connections, to our land, to each other, and to our true selves. In this materialistic world of hyper capitalism and urban alienation we have lost our sacred bond to each other and the sacred bond we share with our conscious universe, and everything within it.
The spiritual plight that we currently find ourselves immersed in was prophesised, it was prophesised that as the long count calendar comes to a close we will begin to awaken spiritually, we will start to recall our connections to the vast universe and everything within it.
